Those of you who missed last week’s “quote of the week” (my first!)–or if you have just come on board–you can still get it here.
It was entitled “The Importance of Loving Everyone” and the quote is from my good friend Sean Stephenson. It wasn’t just appropriate for Valentine’s Day either!
And welcome to my new readers!
This past week I also published my first piece on Copyblogger entitled “How Postage Made Me a Better Marketer.” I invite you to go there and read it…and post a comment if you like. There’s a great discussion happening there and I think I will get some more quotes from it for the future!
I think Copyblogger is the best content for anyone in marketing, especially if you are involved in the creative process.
This week’s quote for you is one that I repeat often…and I think you will find it very meaningful:
“One of the reasons we struggle with insecurity is because we’re comparing our ‘behind the scenes’ with everyone else’s highlight reel.” tweet this
-Steven Furtick, Pastor
I have the distinct privilege of hanging out with some of the most high-achieving entrepreneurs in the world in various Mastermind groups on a regular basis…and you would be surprised how often the subject comes up about how they lose their self-esteem so easily when they see all the greatness around them…and it’s so hard to comprehend since they all seem to be flying so high all the time.
To be the best you can be in business and in life, you have to have confidence in yourself and your abilities; and it serves no one for you to make yourself feel small as you observe and experience the greatness around you.
Think about your own “highlight reel” often…every day and in every way.
And one additional quote from Eleanor Roosevelt on this topic:
“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”
Warmly,
Brian
p.s. What are you working on right now that you’re excited about? Hit reply – I’d love to hear about it.
